Description: The Toy Library provides a Stay and Play session for Parents, Carers and Children at the Healthy Living Centre, Staveley.

Opening Times: Wednesdays 1.30 – 3.00pm (Term Time Only)

Accessibility: The Toy Library is located in the Creche room which is on the ground floor of the Healthy Living Centre, Barlow Road, Staveley.

Charges: £5.00 or £2.50 One off Family Membership. Childminders & Fostercarers £10.00, Creches/Playgroups/Toddler groups £10.00. Private Nurseries/Schools from £25.00. Fees are negotiable, please talk to Donna if you have difficulty with these fees.

Eligibility: Parents, Carers, Childminders, Playgroups/Toddler Groups/Health Proffessionals/Children's Centres. Plus members of North East Derbyshire Toy Library Network

Age Range: 0 - 101 years, we stock a wide range of toys and resources

Families are able to browse through our toy catalogue to choose toys to borrow, play and chat with old and new friends. Healthy Snacks & Refreshments are provided for the children.

We stock a wide range of toys, games, dressing up and have recently added treasure baskets to our extensive catalogue.

We also operate an order service from the following toddler groups:

  • Barrow Hill Toddler Group - Mondays 9.30-11.30am
  • Baby and Toddler Zone - Mondays 1.30-3.00pm
  • Ducky Ducklings - Mondays 1.30-3.00pm
  • Staveley Toddler Group - Tuesdays 9.30-11.30am
  • Healthy Living Centre, Creche Room - 1.30-3.00pm
  • Little Angels - Tuesdays 2.30-3.00pm
  • Speedwell Infant School Toddler Group - Wednesdays 9.30-11.00am
  • Mastin Moor Toddler Group - Tuesdays and Thursdays 9.30-11.30am

Volunteers - Staveley Area Toy Library is actively seeking new volunteers to help develop the toy library and support the following roles on a rota basis:-

  • Toy Cleaning and Maintenance
  • Preparing Refreshments and Healthy Snacks
  • Meet and Greeting New Members
  • Toy Library Buddies & Mentors
  • Marketing
  • Fundraising
  • Supporting Stay & Play Activities/Themed Sessions
  • Administration
  • Finance
